UK Disability History Month (UKDHM) 2016 event hosted by Manchester City Council’s Disabled Staff Group
At City Library, St Peter’s Square, Manchester
On Wednesday 30th November 2016
The theme for the event is
“Disability and Language”
The event will begin at 10.30 am with an open static exhibition until 4.00pm.
The evening event will begin between 5.00 pm and 5.15pm with light refreshments.
It will be opened by our own Councillor Tracey Rawlins Communities and Equality Scrutiny Committee Chair, who will give a brief address.
There will be a presentation by
Professor Peter Mittler, CBE; Chartered Psychologist Hon Research Fellow and former Dean of the Faculty of Education, University of Manchester; UN Consultant in Disability and Development; Human Rights Adviser Dementia Alliance International.
Followed by a questions and answer session,
The event will end at 7.30pm with a vote of thanks.
